What to do in the first weekend of October? In Monferrato the distillates are protagonists at Magnoberta and Mazzetti d'Altavilla distilleries that will open their doors for "Piedmont Grappa" with visits and tastings on Sunday 7th October. On Sunday 7th Rosignano Monferrato celebrates the "Grape Harvest in Art" while on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October the Enoteca Regionale del Monferrato will offer tastings combined with readings, music and stories of women producers. For music lovers, on 6th and 7th October Casale Monferrato will host two events of the PianoEchos 2018 Festival while in Camino, on Friday 5th, a thematic literary evening will be held and on Sunday 7th in Camino and Pontestura will be open the House-Museum and the Museum Depot of the painter Enrico Colombotto Rosso. Art is protagonist also in Moncalvo where on Saturday 6th Gianni Colonna's exhibition will open at the Museo Civico and, on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th, the 450th Anniversary of the birth of the painter Guglielmo Caccia will be celebrated. Also in Moncalvo, on Sunday 7th, the usual event of the Antiques Market will take place. In Fubine, in the afternoon of Friday 5th, the ITACA Monferrato Festival will have its preview with "Fubine ... Che Meraviglia!", an itinerary connecting infernot, cellars, gardens and a snack with hot tisane. Also not to be forgotten is the opening, on October 6th, of the Odalengo Piccolo Astronomical Observatory.

 

The truffle season begins

Still wine in the foreground in the second week of October thanks to the events of Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th at the Enoteca Regionale del Monferrato and VinArte at the Castle of San Giorgio Monferrato (13th and 14th).

On the 12th and 13th, in Casale Monferrato and Moncalvo respectively, the theatrical events of the season 2018/19 will begin, while for the lovers of cultural visits the 13th and 14th will return "Casale Città Aperta" with the opening of the main historical sites, on the 14th there will be guided visits to Ozzano Monferrato and Cella Monte and from 13th to 21st will take place the ITACA 'Monferrato Festival with many events. Markets in the foreground in Casale Monferrato where the monthly appointment with the Antiques and the Farmer Market returns on the 13th and 14th while on 14th is the Doc Monferrato Tipico & Shopping to come back. Dominant art in Casale Monferrato thanks to the "Frà Giacinto Natta" exhibition at the Seminary Library (opening on the 12th) and to the National Day of Families at the Museum to which the Museo Civico and Gipsoteca Bistolfi (on 14th) adhere. You can not miss the music with the final concert of classical music of the review The Academy in Monferrato (on 14th in Casale Monferrato) accompanied by "Suono e Segno" with the Music in the Synagogue, again in Casale Monferrato (on 14th). And for the lovers of the stars on 13th and 14th October new openings of the Astronomical Observatory of Odalengo Piccolo. But on 14th also opens the fragrant list of fairs that enhance white truffles with the 25th edition of Tufo & Tartufo (Tuff and Truffle)in Odalengo Piccolo, also dedicated to ancient apples. And since 6th October, a special truffle-themed package has been set up at the Castello di Gabiano, which includes the hunter's meal too, before savoring the tuber at the table.
