Bagna Cauda Day in the town of Casale Monferrato from 25th to 27th November

Autumn in the Monferrato area, a Unesco World Heritage Site, is full of flavors and emotions and is waiting for you.

The Monferrato Castle, in the town of Casale Monferrato, hosts the event "Bagna Cauda Day" from 25th to 27th November 2016: five appointments with one of the most famous and appreciated specialties in Piedmont.

Bagna Cauda is a traditional Piedmontese recipe with anchovies, extra virgin olive oil and garlic, used as a sauce especially for vegetables but it is good also for meats and eggs. The Bagna Cauda with its intense flavor is kept hot by a little candle arranged under the traditional dish named “Fojot”, the one that is used to eat this typical recipe. Eating Bagna Cauda promotes aggregation and conviviality, becoming a cultural and recreational phenomenon.

You can taste the typical Bagna Cauda at dinners on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November and at lunch of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November. Lunches and dinners take place in the evocative location of the towers of the castle. The traditional Bagna Cauda is prepared by the renowned chefs of the Court of  Paleologi of Lu Monferrato. On Saturday evening do not miss the “Court Kiss” at midnight,  with entertainment and typical customs of the Monferrato area.

Take advantage of the opportunities to discover the Monferrato area during the weekend of the event: the Monferrato Castle and the historic center of the town of Casale Monferrato, the beautiful landscapes in the hills around the town and the famous Infernot, ancient underground cellars used to store wine bottles, declared UNESCO heritage (for more information: www.ecomuseopietracantoni.org).

Lunches and dinners include bagna cauda, dessert, water and coffee for 25 Euros. It is possible to buy a bottle of  Doc Piedmont wine at 8 Euros.
